The Life Picks is an independent publication. To keep it running, we participate in affiliate programs, which means some of the links on this site are affiliate links.

What that means for you

When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, the retailer or brand may pay us a commission. You pay the same price whether you use our link or go directly to the retailer. The commission comes out of the retailer’s marketing budget, not your pocket.

What it does not change

• Brands and retailers cannot pay to be included in, or ranked higher in, any guide.
• We do not accept free products in exchange for coverage.
• Our guides are about how to choose a type of product. Whether a particular retailer offers a commission has no bearing on what we say about the category.
• If we change a recommendation, it’s because the research changed, not because a commission did.

Programs we participate in

We work with affiliate networks and retailer programs that cover the product categories we write about. Links to a retailer may route through a tracking link so that the retailer can attribute the visit to this site. These links do not collect any personal information beyond what the retailer’s own site collects when you visit it.
